1. Information We Collect

NailMaps does not require account creation or login. The only data we collect from passive visitors is through analytics tools described below.

If you submit a salon, submit as a nail tech, or request a listing removal through our Submit forms, we collect the information you voluntarily provide — such as name, business name, address, phone number, email address, services offered, and (optionally) a professional license number. This information is used only to review and publish or update your listing, or to process your removal request, and is sent to our team via a third-party form processor (see Section 4).

Optional license numbers are used solely for internal verification before publishing a listing and are never displayed publicly on the live site.

We may collect the following automatically:

• Pages visited and time spent on pages
• Browser type and device type (aggregated)
• Referral source (e.g., Google search, direct link)
• Geographic region at city or country level (not precise location)

2. How We Use Analytics Data

Aggregate analytics data is used solely to:

• Understand which pages and features are most useful
• Improve site performance and content quality
• Diagnose technical issues

We do not use your data for advertising targeting or sell it to third parties.

3. Cookies & Analytics (GA4)

This Site uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect anonymized usage data. GA4 may place cookies on your device. These cookies help us understand aggregate traffic patterns. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or social media tracking scripts.

4. Third-Party Links & Form Processing

Submissions made through our Submit forms are processed by Web3Forms, a third-party form-to-email service, which forwards your submission to our inbox. We do not store submission data on our own servers. Review Web3Forms' own privacy practices at web3forms.com/privacy.

Salon listings may include links to external websites (Google Maps, booking platforms, salon websites). NailMaps is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before submitting any personal information.

5. Data Retention

Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics default retention settings (14 months for event data). We do not store visitor data on our own servers beyond standard web server access logs, which are retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under laws such as GDPR (EU/UK) or CCPA (California) including the right to access, correct, or delete data about you. Since we do not collect identifiable personal data directly, most of these rights are fulfilled by default. For analytics data, please use the Google Analytics opt-out tool linked above.

Pennsylvania residents: this policy complies with applicable Pennsylvania privacy law. No personal data is sold or shared with third parties for monetary consideration.

7. No Sale of Personal Data

NailMaps does not sell, rent, or trade personal information to any third party. We do not participate in data broker networks.

8. Children's Privacy

This Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through this Site, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated Effective Date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance.
